Build a Home for Christmas
Over the years more and more people are stepping up and giving to those in need. This can be a charitable act of giving money, goods or even time to the unfortunate. Most forms of charity forms are concerned to providing the basics such as food, water, clothing and health care.
One of the first charities that started was Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’ Charity. Dahl’s life was affected by a serious illness and loss of his own most loved ones. He believed in taking practical steps to make improvements to those around him. His determination helped to develop new medical treatments such as Wade-Dahl-Till valve. This was used to help thousands of children suffering from Hydrocephalus. Dahl gave all of his time, money and effort into this illness to help children and their families, including many he never met.
The charity was then set up in the memory of Dahl by his loving widow wife shortly after his death. Even to this day the charity is still going strong saving and helping the lives of many.
Many people get inspired due to a personal cause or by just seeing and know the lives of those around you.
We met up with 40 year old Lyn Connoll who ‘Braved the Shave’ on 27th August 2017 she reached £460.00 to donate to cancer research. Lyn shaved her head to support those of have lost their lives battling cancer. Her generosity helped pay toward new research mechanisms.
We here at Fourth Pillar are inspired by everyone around us and want to make a difference for someone. This year we are building a home for Christmas. A campaign is being held throughout December 2017 to build a warm secure house for a family who need shelter. Just one small act of kindness could change someone’s life. We couldn’t be more honoured to give support and aid to even just one person’s life.
